Everyone just assumes that to be healthy you need to eat healthy foods, following a healthy diet. But this is not the case. You should have a balanced diet. But what is the importance of a balanced diet?
What is a balanced diet?
A balanced diet is eating a variety of foods following certain guidelines. You should not be focusing on just eating fruit and vegetables.
A balanced diet consists of 5 portions of fruit and vegetables, drinking 2 litres of water a day, eating a small number of high sugar foods and consume little salt.
Why is a balanced diet important?
Having a balanced diet will help you to maintain your ideal body weight. It will also help to ensure that your body is being given all of the right nutrients that are needed.
If you are trying to lose weight cut down the number of fatty foods you are eating. However, it is okay to eat them every so often.
