Awards Awards...

Alison Taylor won the WIN Best Woman Entrepreneurin the North East - New Business Category last Friday.

'Food Local food wins Wansbeck Best Business Award'

A great night was had by the whole team at the Rio Tinto Wansbeck Business Award. We won the technology award as much for what we are going to do as for what we have now I am sure of that.

But best of the all - the teams vision of what could be, with our efforts to support small suppliers and local brands was recognised by winning the Best Business Award for Wansbeck in 2009 - so a big thank you to Go Wansbeck  for both the award and some recent funding which is enabling us to move from our small premises to a much larger one .  Most important is a big thank you to our customers for staying loyal and supporting us.

Letters from abroad ...
.... I just had to write & tell you this little story - who knows, it may even turn into good advice for other FLF customers...
My boyfriend & I spent a glorious couple of weeks in sunny France recently. To beat the M1 traffic, we decided to use the DFDS ferry from N Sheilds to Amsterdam. It was fab!
BUT - not necessarily the cheapest way to travel, especially considering that their evening buffet meal cost £26 pp for 2 courses (no wine).
So this is what we did:
A quick & convenient order to FLF for one of the very best pies in the history of the world - Ridleys Northumberland Chicken Pie. Add some smoked salmon, brown buttered bread, sliced ham, tomatoes (like non-fattening juicy sweeties ), coleslaw, a wedge of Northumbrian Nettle cheese, strawberries and a couple of other goodies which I can't remember. A bottle of wine and hey presto - a totally fabulous picnic to eat in our cabin for a quarter of the price of the DFDS 2 course meal for 2 people. And the remainder of the pie, cheese and some coleslaw did us for the following day's picnic lunch too!
I cannot recommend the Ridleys pies too highly - they're  the best we've ever had & they go round 4 people. The Northumberland Chicken  is our particular favourite and is now our Friday night treat with salad and wedge potatoes.
We also love the Thorncroft Pink Ginger cordial too.
Thanks for a great service and excellent food!

This was a letter from one of our customers and we thought it not only innovative but fun, fun, fun and a great use of our services and food.
